ABBAZIA SANTA MARIA DEL BOSCO
All the charm of 700 years of history for an unforgettable holidayThe Relais Abbazia Santa Maria del Bosco was created from an ancient abbey built to house Benedictine monks and then passed to the Olivetan Congregation. The original abbey, probably dating back to 1300, was built by a group of hermits who, accused of heresy, lived here until they embraced the Benedictine rule.

BAGLIO SAN VINCENZO
The history of Baglio San Vincenzo, renowned in ancient times for its winemaking traditions, began in 1654, when the viceroy of Sicily Rodrigo Mendoza, Duke of Infatata, granted the barony of San Vincenzo to Domenico Velasquez from Toledo. The granting of the fiefdom was subject to the construction of a church on site in honor of San Vincenzo Ferreri, born in Valencia in 1350. Of the church, only some perimeter walls, the wooden statue of the saint and the bell remained.

Nel 1922 il Dott. Pietro Giuffrida, stimato ed apprezzato medico del comprensorio, acquistava il fondo rustico “pascolabile ed incolto” “Catalani – Acque calde”, conosciuto anche come “Acque Calde di S. Pietro”, all’interno dell’ex feudo Diesi. Il sottosuolo del terreno era noto per la presenza di possibili “giacimenti zolfiferi” nonché per la sorgente meglio individuata come “esalazioni di anidride solforosa”.
