Domus Iter Vitis
It is a cultural and social tourism initiative promoted by the Association, which will provide travellers with a “domus” to learn about and experience other local realities, through the discovery of territorial identities and participation in cultural events and demonstrations.
“Domus, from Latin, is the house where one lives, a familiar, welcoming and peculiar place” – underlines Paolo Benvenuti, President of Iter Vitis – “With the opening of this first Domus Iter Vitis, an innovative form of tourism is inaugurated, which focuses on the sense of welcome and sociability, founding values of the Association, to inspire a spirit of common belonging. An initiative that has as its objective the development and strengthening of the associative network and that blends together leisure, sociability and knowledge.”
Taberna
La Taberna nasce per promuovere prodotti enogastronomici del territorio; è attrezzatissima, con enoteca e cucina, arredata con sedie coloratissime ed enormi tavoli di legno.
È diventata il fulcro di iniziative e scambi non soltanto gastronomici ma anche turistici e culturali.
The Terre Sicane Wine Road
is a food and wine itinerary located in the municipalities of Contessa Entellina, Menfi, Montevago, Sambuca di Sicilia, Santa Margherita Belice and Sciacca. The Terre Sicane are a hilly region located in the province of Trapani, in the western part of Sicily. This area is characterized by a long winemaking tradition, with vineyards that extend over hills and terraces.
The Terre Sicane Wine Route offers visitors the chance to discover the art of viticulture and winemaking in this region. Along the route, you can visit several wineries and wineries, some of which have been run by families for generations. The wineries produce a wide variety of wines, using mainly native Sicilian grapes such as Nero d'Avola, Grillo, Catarratto and Perricone, which reflect the peculiarities of the Terre Sicane terroir and help create quality wines with unique characteristics.
In addition to wine tasting, the Terre Sicane Wine Route also offers the opportunity to explore traditional Sicilian cuisine, from cheeses, cured meats, olive oil and traditional breads. These authentic flavors pair perfectly with the wines produced in the region, creating an authentic gastronomic experience.
Furthermore, along the wine route, it is possible to admire enchanting landscapes, characterized by green hills, valleys and historic villages. Visitors can immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the Sicane Lands and also visit cultural and historical sites, such as those of Adranone and Entella, the Acquapia di Montevago spa, the beaches of Sciacca and Menfi.delle Terre Sicane.
